Read these risks carefully before running the LFP robot on a live account. Only trade with capital you can afford to lose.
Leveraged trading risk
Trading forex, CFDs, indices, metals and cryptocurrencies on leverage carries a high level of risk. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses and can result in the loss of your entire account balance.
Limitations of backtest results
Results shown on this site come from simulations on historical data, not live trading. A backtest cannot reproduce every real market condition, including slippage, spreads widening in fast markets, execution delays, differences in commission and swap, and price gaps. Past performance, real or simulated, is not an indication of future performance.
Why your results will differ
- Your account’s results will not match the backtest or the LFP live account; your broker’s spread, commission, swap and execution quality differ.
- The trading style you choose, your account balance and when you start change the result. Below the stated minimum capital, some orders fall under the broker’s minimum volume and are not placed.
- If your broker doesn’t offer a market, it is disabled in your dedicated build and its share of the result is removed.
Drawdown
- A live account’s drawdown can exceed the deepest drawdown recorded in backtest or on the LFP live account. We recommend starting with an amount whose 20% drawdown would not affect your life.
- In the Brave style the 30% drawdown brake closes every position and resumes once back under 20%. A permanent account stop 40% below the high is optional and off by default; the Reckless and Mad styles carry no loss limit at all. These guards execute at market prices; through a price gap, slippage or a lost connection, the real drawdown can exceed them.
- The Mad style has no loss limit and no brake, and can lead to the loss of the account’s entire capital.
Broker differences
Contract specifications, symbol names, trading hours, spreads and execution quality differ between brokers and can change results materially. Each buyer’s build is produced from the broker details provided; later changes at the broker may affect performance.
Technical risks
Internet outages, VPS or MetaTrader problems, software errors and licence-server unavailability can prevent trades from being placed or positions from being managed correctly. Each position keeps its stop loss at your broker.
Funded (prop) accounts
LFP’s default settings are not tuned to any funding firm’s rules. Before using it on such an account, check that firm’s daily and overall drawdown rules.
Independent advice
LFP is not personal investment advice. If you are unsure whether leveraged or automated trading suits you, consult an independent financial adviser.
